Food Allergies

If you have any food allergies in your family, you may want to wait to introduce that food to your child until your child is older. When you do introduce it, watch your child closely for any food allergy symptoms.

Signs and Symptoms:

  • Runny nose, Sneezing, Wheezing (similar to a cold)
  • Skin rash
  • Hives
  • Diarrhea
  • Vomiting
  • Gas
  • Cranky and Irritable
  • Night Wakening

    • Peanuts
    • Berries
    • Chocolate
    • Cinnamon
    • Citrus Fruits
    • Coconut
    • Corn
    • Dairy
    • Egg whites
    • Mustard
    • Nuts
    • Peas
    • Peanut butter
    • Pork
    • Shellfish
    • Soy
    • Sugar
    • Tomatoes
    • Wheat
    • Yeast
    What to do if you think your child has a food allergy:
      • Keep a food diary. Write down what your baby is eating and when you notice symptoms.
      • Eliminate suspected allergenic foods and then slowly re-introduce them one at a time.
      • Seek immediate attention if allergenic reaction is severe and child is having a hard time breathing.
